Japan, South Korea stocks tumble as tech selloff deepens; KOSPI sinks nearly 10%

A wave of selling in technology shares hit Northeast Asian equities, with losses accelerating into the afternoon session. Japan's Nikkei 225 closed Tuesday, June 23 down 2,565.58 points, or 3.55%, at 69,788.38. South Korea's KOSPI ended down 910.49 points, or 9.99%, at 8,204.06, its steepest one-day decline since March 4. SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics both fell more than 12%. (Jinshi)
