India petrol, diesel prices hold at elevated levels on June 22 as Delhi petrol stays at ₹102.12/litre

Fuel prices across several Indian cities remained elevated on June 22, with petrol at ₹102.12/litre and diesel at ₹95.20/litre in Delhi, while Hyderabad recorded the highest petrol price at ₹115.69/litre. The latest round marked the fourth increase since 15 May, lifting cumulative gains to close to ₹7.5 per litre. The rises were linked to heightened shipping risks around the Strait of Hormuz amid the US-Iran conflict, threatening India’s Gulf-sourced supplies of 40% crude oil imports, 65% natural gas and 90% LPG. The oil ministry said stocks were adequate but acknowledged prices may not ease in the near term.
