BTC Flash Spike Triggers About $12.3M in Hyperliquid Liquidations
HuoXing Finance cited Hyperinsight data showing that on June 8, BTC posted a brief, five-minute surge in the morning session, momentarily pushing above $64,000. The minute-level spike swept through multiple large short positions clustered between $63,000 and $64,000, sparking a concentrated wave of liquidations on Hyperliquid.
The largest single liquidation reached $6.06 million, with a liquidation price of $63,224. Hyperinsight said the biggest forced close came from a 40x-leveraged BTC short opened last Friday. The address shorted 195.8 BTC; as BTC rose from $62,700 to $63,700 in the morning, the trader repeatedly trimmed the position when price approached the liquidation threshold, making six manual partial closes within one minute.
