Jio Financial shares rise over 3% after Bank of America agrees to buy 49.9% of Jio Credit for Rs 18,268 crore

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Bank of America's planned purchase of up to 49.9% of Jio Credit in a Rs 18,268 crore deal signals strong foreign appetite for India's fast-growing credit market and validates Jio Financial's digital-first NBFC strategy. The structure (initial 26.5% via preferential allotment, potential step-up via warrants) reduces execution risk while leaving approval gates. Near term, it supports risk sentiment toward Indian financials and cross-border deal flow.

Jio Financial Services shares rose more than 3% to Rs 263 on the BSE on Thursday after the company said Bank of America will buy a 49.9% stake in its wholly owned nonbank lender, Jio Credit, in a Rs 18,268 crore deal. Bank of America will first take a 26.5% stake through a preferential allotment of equity shares. It can later lift the holding to 49.9% by exercising warrants, subject to regulatory approvals.
