Toppan surged 14% after upbeat quarterly results.

Tata Motors reported Q1 FY27 net profit of Rs 2,560 crore, up 83.3% year on year, while revenue rose 19% to Rs 20,667 crore, helped by mark-to-market gains on Tata Capital investments. After the results, Nomura upgraded the stock and CLSA kept its Outperform rating. The shares climbed as much as 6% intraday to Rs 485 on the next session.

South Korea’s Kospi surged 3.73% to 6,824.54, its highest level since July 24, led by chip stocks on artificial-intelligence demand. SK Hynix rose more than 7% and Samsung Electronics gained more than 5%. Foreign investors were net buyers of $778.5 million in equities, while the won strengthened 0.38% against the dollar. POSCO Holdings slipped 0.08% and Samsung Biologics climbed 0.84%.

Jio Financial Services shares rose more than 3% to Rs 263 on the BSE on Thursday after the company said Bank of America will buy a 49.9% stake in its wholly owned nonbank lender, Jio Credit, in a Rs 18,268 crore deal. Bank of America will first take a 26.5% stake through a preferential allotment of equity shares. It can later lift the holding to 49.9% by exercising warrants, subject to regulatory approvals.

U.S. stocks finished mixed on Wednesday, with the S&P 500 up 0.26% at 7748.58 and the Nasdaq Composite up 0.55% at 26588.49, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.06%. Strong quarterly results from AI infrastructure firms including CoreWeave boosted sentiment toward the AI trade and helped lead technology stocks higher. Softer inflation data pushed expectations that the Federal Reserve will keep rates unchanged next month to 62%. Super Micro Computer jumped 19.51%, while Dell gained 8.9% and Hewlett Packard rose 7.41%, as some energy and solar names declined.

Cupid shares rose 8.8% over two sessions to Rs 289.95. For the April–June quarter, the company reported consolidated net profit of Rs 44 crore, up from Rs 15 crore a year earlier, while revenue from operations jumped 159% to Rs 155 crore. EBITDA increased 265% to Rs 60 crore and the EBITDA margin expanded 1,127 bps to 39%. The company said it implemented a minimum 10% price increase across its export portfolio and benefited from a favourable USD/INR exchange-rate environment, supporting export realisations and margin expansion.

Dish TV reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 286 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, more than tripling from a year earlier. Subscription revenue dropped 41% to Rs 161 crore, while total expenses rose 46% to Rs 375 crore and operating revenue fell 19% to Rs 266 crore. The company is expanding its VZY Smart TV ecosystem as viewing habits shift.

Senco Gold reported a 67% year-on-year rise in consolidated revenue to Rs 3,056 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, while consolidated profit after tax fell 3% to Rs 101 crore. The PAT margin narrowed to 3.3% from 5.7%, and the EBITDA margin declined to 7% from 10%. The company attributed the margin squeeze to promotional discounting, lower gold prices and changes in customs duty. Shares fell more than 8% on the day.

India’s gold ETF net inflows fell 55% month on month in July, while silver ETF inflows dropped 70%, according to data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India. Gold ETF assets under management rose to Rs 1.73 lakh crore, while silver ETF AUM slipped to Rs 77,676 crore. Gold ETFs posted an average return of 1.37% for the month, while silver ETFs recorded an average loss of 2.48%.
