FIIs post September’s biggest single-day outflow at Rs 5,353.22 crore as DIIs buy Rs 5,189.02 crore

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Indian equities slid to multi-month lows as FIIs logged the largest single-day September outflow, overwhelming risk appetite despite DII support. The key macro shock is Brent's surge near $108 amid Middle East supply concerns, alongside rising India and US yields, lifting inflation anxiety and tightening expectations. Higher energy and input costs add pressure on margins, with rate-sensitive sectors like PSU banks underperforming.

Indian equities extended their slide, with the Nifty and Sensex closing at their lowest levels since March. Foreign institutional investors recorded a net sale of Rs 5,353.22 crore in a single session, the biggest outflow in September, while domestic institutional investors offset it with net buying of Rs 5,189.02 crore. Brent crude jumped to around $108 a barrel and India’s 10-year government bond yield rose to 7.12%, weighing on PSU banks and stoking concerns that inflation risks could push the RBI toward a rate hike at its October policy meeting.
