The incident traces back to March 22, when the attacker exploited a minting vulnerability to create 80 million USR without collateral. The attacker sold about 34 million USR for 11,409 ETH (about $24.48 million) and moved the proceeds to address 0x8ED...81C. Resolv also destroyed roughly 46 million USR from the attacker's address via the same contract upgrade. The realized loss from the exploit is estimated at $24.48 million.

The remaining ~46 million USR was removed from circulation after the team upgraded the contract, effectively burning the tokens from the attacker's address. ChainCatcher reports that on-chain analyst Yujin said Resolv Labs carried out a contract upgrade about an hour ago that burned 36.73 million USR tokens held by the attacker. The company's Bitcoin position now stands at 766,970 BTC, valued at $53.287 billion, with an average cost basis of $75,644 and an unrealized loss of $4.729 billion. Bitmine (BMNR) purchased 71,252 ETH, investing approximately $147 million at an average price of $2,063 per ETH. Its Ether holdings have risen to 4,803,334 ETH, worth $10.303 billion, with an average cost basis of $3,644 per ETH and an unrealized loss of $7.202 billion.
