Bank of Ghana orders regulated institutions to halt support for crypto platforms’ foreign-currency digital wallets

The Bank of Ghana has issued a mandatory directive ordering all regulated financial institutions to immediately stop supporting unauthorized foreign currency digital wallets offered by cryptocurrency platforms. The central bank said the wallet services are not authorized under Ghana’s financial laws, and the notice instructs institutions to discontinue any support without delay.
