U.S. Air Force awards first CCA “loyal wingman” drone production to General Atomics and Anduril

The U.S. Air Force has formally selected General Atomics and Anduril as the first prime contractors to build Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) and begin Increment 1 production. For fiscal 2027, the service is seeking about $1.4 billion for development and nearly $1 billion for procurement. In a separate autonomy-software track, Anduril, Shield AI and RTX unit Collins Aerospace have advanced as finalists and will enter a six-month performance test phase.
