U.S. Air Force awards first CCA “loyal wingman” drone production to General Atomics and Anduril
The U.S. Air Force has formally selected General Atomics and Anduril as the first prime contractors to build Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) and begin Increment 1 production. For fiscal 2027, the service is seeking about $1.4 billion for development and nearly $1 billion for procurement. In a separate autonomy-software track, Anduril, Shield AI and RTX unit Collins Aerospace have advanced as finalists and will enter a six-month performance test phase.

Lockheed Martin and GM sign pact to ramp up munitions output, targeting PAC-3 MSE and THAAD scale-up
Lockheed Martin has signed a memorandum of understanding with General Motors to use GM’s scaled manufacturing capabilities to raise output of defense products such as missiles. The effort centers on speeding production of PAC-3 MSE and THAAD interceptors, aligning with a U.S. Defense Department request to triple and quadruple their production rates, respectively, over the next several years. The partnership focuses on strengthening supply chains and producing commonly used parts, without blending the companies’ products.
