XRP Ledger Patches Integer Overflow Bug That Could Have Broken 100 Billion Supply Cap
XRP Ledger developers disclosed on Oct 9 a critical integer overflow bug that could have let an attacker mint new XRP and break the 100 billion supply cap. Patched in xrpld 3.4.1 on Sept 25, the flaw was reported by Cayden Liao and Veria AI. RippleX found no evidence of exploitation and skipped the usual amendment process. Over 80 percent of default validators ran 3.4.1 on release day.
