U.S.-Iran technical talks set for Switzerland as Hormuz Strait closure dispute escalates

BlockBeats reported that on June 21, citing CCTV, Pakistan said on June 20 that U.S.-Iran technical-level talks would be held in Switzerland on June 21, following the formal signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran on June 18. Iran's negotiating delegation has arrived in Switzerland, and U.S. Vice President Vance has departed to attend the talks. Also on June 20, the Iranian military announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, accusing the United States of failing to restrain Israel and of violating the memorandum of understanding. The U.S. military said it had not observed any Iranian actions to close the strait. The same day, U.S. President Trump issued an explanation regarding tolls for passage through the strait.
