Syscoin Publishes Bridge Incident Report; Unauthorized SYS Issuance Burned

Syscoin has released a security incident report outlining a vulnerability in its UTXOtoNEVM bridge. The flaw led to the unauthorized release of roughly 5 billion SYS on the UTXO side. Syscoin said the affected tokens were sent back to the official recovery address and destroyed using the standard OP_RETURN mechanism, preventing the protocol from using them again and bringing the on-chain SYS supply back to its expected level. Bridge operations remain suspended as the team completes final reviews and deploys fixes.
