RetoSwap raises minimum client to v2.0, pauses trading after Haveno Protocol attack report
Huo Xing Cai Jing reported that RetoSwap said in a post on X that at 2:02 a.m. Beijing time today it was alerted to an attack targeting the Haveno trading protocol. RetoSwap responded by using its filter function to set the minimum client version to 2.0, suspending trading, and blocking the attacker's onion address.
RetoSwap said its own team was not compromised and that the issue lies at the Haveno protocol level. Losses appear to be concentrated in large cryptocurrency orders, while fiat traders were not affected. The team said it is assessing ways to help impacted traders recover funds. Trading will resume after a protocol patch is deployed.
On May 21, reports said that RetoSwap suffered a theft of about $2.7 million due to a Haveno protocol vulnerability.
