LG Electronics to Launch Advertising-Focused Blockchain on Arbitrum; ARB Jumps More Than 5%
LG Electronics will build a new blockchain for advertising and media use cases on Ethereum layer-2 network Arbitrum, ChainCatcher reported. After the news, Arbitrum's native token ARB gained more than 5% on the day.
The blockchain is intended to support the placement, buying, selling, and management of digital ads, while also logging user engagement with advertising content.
Developed by Offchain Labs, Arbitrum uses Optimistic Rollup technology to deliver faster, lower-cost transactions while settling on Ethereum.
LG has previously explored blockchain initiatives. The company's IT services arm, LG CNS, launched the enterprise blockchain Monachain and developed the crypto wallet Wallypto. LG also rolled out the Art Lab NFT marketplace, which was shut down last year.
