MEV bot Jaredfromsubway.eth reportedly hit by anti-MEV honeypot, losing over $7.5M

Jaredfromsubway.eth, a prominent MEV bot active on Ethereum, has suffered losses exceeding $7.5 million after attackers exploited weaknesses in its automated execution workflow, Odaily Planet Daily reported. Security firm Blockaid said the incident did not involve classic phishing or a smart-contract flaw. Instead, it described a targeted "anti-MEV honeypot attack" that manipulated the bot's decision logic. Over several weeks, the attackers deployed 66 fake token contracts and deceptive liquidity pools masquerading as familiar assets such as WETH, USDC and USDT. The setup enticed bots into executing trades that appeared profitable and into granting approvals to attacker-controlled helper contracts. The attackers later exercised the embedded backdoor permissions in a single transaction, draining assets including ETH, USDC and USDT from the bot's address. Data cited in the report shows that from November 2024 to October 2025, Ethereum saw roughly 60,000 to 90,000 sandwich attacks per month, with about 70% associated with Jaredfromsubway.eth.
