Core DAO Says b14g Vulnerability Does Not Threaten Core Network Security
ME News reported that Core DAO said in a tweet on November 1 (UTC+8) that it had identified a vulnerability affecting the Bitcoin double-staking layer b14g and is working closely with the b14g team. The Core network remains secure, with consensus, validators, and staking contracts operating normally. CORE staked directly with validators or through other protocols is unaffected. Core is supporting b14g and its exchange partners in tracking and freezing funds. Most of the stolen CORE remains on the Core chain, and exchanges are freezing deposits linked to the attacker. Foresight News previously reported that b14g said about 97 million CORE tokens staked through its platform were withdrawn without authorization at 17:29 Beijing time on October 31 and transferred to the attacker's address. The b14g team paused the affected contract immediately after discovery and is working with the Core team, security partners, and exchanges to track the funds and coordinate their freezing and recovery.
