BlackRock Debuts iShares Bitcoin Yield ETF (BITA) on Nasdaq; MARA Holdings Acquires 1,000 BTC
On June 16, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Yield ETF (Nasdaq: BITA) officially began trading on the Nasdaq, following SEC approval on the evening of June 15. As reported by BBX and Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas, BITA represents the first yield-focused Bitcoin ETF from a top-tier asset manager, utilizing a covered call strategy on its IBIT holdings to target annualized returns of 15% to 25%. Simultaneously, on-chain tracking from Lookonchain confirmed that MARA Holdings acquired 1,000 BTC via FalconX at 20:55 UTC on June 15 for approximately $66.7 million. This purchase marks a significant reversal for the mining firm, which offloaded over 20,000 BTC in Q1 2024 to settle debt. MARA shares responded positively to the news, closing up 3.98% at $14.60.
