Bitcoin reclaims $81,000 as Fed's Waller signals rates could stay at 3.50%–3.75% if inflation cools

Bitcoin has climbed back above $81,000 after closing near $77,300 yesterday. Fed Governor Christopher Waller said today he leans toward keeping the federal funds rate in the 3.50%–3.75% range this month if August inflation continues to cool. The Federal Open Market Committee is scheduled to vote September 15–16, and Waller said a rate hike remains possible if the inflation reading comes in hot.
