Circle says USDC is the only top-10 stablecoin compliant with EU MiCA, putting USDT on the sidelines
Circle said USDC is currently the only stablecoin among the world’s ten largest that complies with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. If the claim is correct, the EU’s roughly 450 million residents would no longer have regulated access to most major dollar-backed stablecoins, including Tether’s USDT. The statement comes as Europe moves to fully implement MiCA, reshaping the competitive landscape for stablecoins.

US Senate faces narrowing window to move CLARITY Act as Bitwise sees rally risk if deadline slips
The US Senate has not scheduled a vote on the CLARITY Act in its final week before recess, leaving limited time to advance the bill that would set a federal framework for digital commodities and split oversight between the SEC and CFTC. Polymarket data show the implied probability of enactment in 2026 has fallen to 14%, down from more than 80% in February. The House passed the bill 294-134 in July 2025. Bitwise said missing the deadline could ultimately set up a crypto-market rebound.
