PayPal rises as Stripe and Advent reopen takeover talks after $60.50-per-share bid

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Reports that PayPal is in renewed early-stage sale talks with Stripe and Advent introduce event-driven optionality for PYPL after years of strategic resets and competitive pressure. The stock's modest gain suggests investors are cautiously pricing a potential takeout while recognizing execution risk and uncertainty on valuation and deal completion. Near-term trading may remain sensitive to further headlines on bid terms, regulatory considerations, and board/shareholder receptivity.

PayPal has reopened buyout talks with Stripe and private-equity firm Advent after rejecting their July offer of $60.50 per share as too low. On the back of the report, PYPL shares closed about 2% higher on Friday. The company replaced CEO Alex Chriss in early 2026 with HP’s Enrique Lores to accelerate AI integration and cut costs amid a slow turnaround. Wall Street rates the stock a Hold, with an average price target of $58.36 that implies a 5.35% downside risk.
