GE Aerospace to buy Consolidated Precision Products for $11.75 billion to ease engine castings bottleneck

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
GE Aerospace plans to acquire precision castings supplier Consolidated Precision Products for $11.75B to internalize a key engine supply-chain bottleneck amid strong commercial and defense demand. The deal, funded with $7B cash and new debt, targets capacity, yield improvements, and faster technology-to-production cycles for airfoils and other hot-section parts. While strategically supportive for backlog execution, it adds leverage and may raise concerns for CPP's non-GE customers.

GE Aerospace said it will acquire precision castings supplier Consolidated Precision Products for $11.75 billion, bringing a key engine supply-chain step in-house. The company, which derives about 70% of its revenue from commercial and defense engines, expects CPP to generate about $2 billion in revenue in 2027 and sees airfoil demand rising more than 30% by 2030 versus 2026. GE will fund $7 billion of the purchase with cash and the remainder with new debt, and the deal is expected to close in the second half of 2027.
