Alphabet’s Waymo has introduced a self-driving chip built on TSMC’s 5nm process, delivering more than 1,000 trillion operations per second and reducing reliance on suppliers such as Nvidia. The company also put its Zeekr-based Ojai robotaxi fleet into service in San Francisco, Phoenix and Los Angeles, running sixth-generation driving technology with Google’s Gemini assistant.
