Ethereum reserves held on crypto exchanges have slid to a fresh all-time low, with balances dropping to 14.5 million ETH. More than 6.5 million ETH was withdrawn from exchanges between June 11, 2025, and press time on June 11, 2026, while staking rose to a record 39.39 million ETH even as ETH traded near $1,650, down nearly 30% month-over-month.

Japan's lower house has passed a bill that would place cryptocurrencies under a stock-style regulatory framework, with the measure expected to be implemented next year if approved by the upper house. The proposal could treat assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum as financial instruments, tighten trading rules, and potentially reduce the maximum tax rate on crypto gains from 55% toward about 20%. It may also support the launch of regulated products such as spot crypto ETFs.

On 11 June 2026 at 10:38, Binance’s ETH derivatives activity surged, with perpetual futures volume at 5.57M units versus 290K in spot and a Perp-Spot Imbalance of 0.90 near its peak. ETH open interest on the exchange reached 3.7M ETH (44% share), while the weekly Taker Buy/Sell Ratio rose from 0.95 to 1.16, signaling more aggressive buy-side flow even as ETH traded around $1,650.

Coinglass spot flow data shows Cardano saw net exchange outflows of -$2.54 million in a 24-hour window, with outflows at $32.62 million versus $30 million in inflows. At an ADA price of $0.16, the gap equals roughly 16 million tokens moving from exchanges to self-custody, as Santiment also noted on June 10 that long-held ADA wallets began moving again after months of relative quiet.

Crypto prices firmed on Thursday after Wednesday's inflation data showed core pressures easing, with bitcoin up about 1.9% in 24 hours to roughly $62,600. Over the past seven days, BTC was down less than 1% while several large caps stayed lower, including ether down about 6.5% to around $1,651 and solana down 7.4% near $65. Traders are also looking ahead to the Fed's June 17 meeting, where markets expect no rate change.

Fidelity’s Ethereum ETF-related wallets recorded $28.6 million in ETH purchases so far this week, marking its strongest buying week since late April. Ethereum ETF net inflows stood at $41.52 million at press time, while ETH traded around $1,651–$1,657, with indicators still suggesting near-term caution despite a modest bounce.

Bitmine purchased $41 million worth of ETH on Wednesday, including a 25,000 ETH buy around 11:22 a.m. ET, as it continues expanding its corporate Ethereum treasury. Over the past three days, the firm has accumulated 125,000 ETH worth about $205 million at current prices, while it has not yet officially confirmed the latest purchases. The company has also reported large unrealized losses on its ether holdings as ETH remains sharply lower in 2026.

Ethereum continued to trade below $1,700 as on-chain data pointed to large ETH outflows from major venues. Three whale wallets—two newly created—moved a combined $122.29 million in ETH out of FalconX and Kraken, while one of the addresses was described as sitting on an unrealized loss of about $9.1 million.

Analysts CrediBULL Crypto and Bobby A said Ethereum (ETH) currently looks like the stronger short-term trade, while XRP could become the better near-term pick if the XRP/ETH ratio falls about 30% to a midrange level. At press time, ETH traded just above $1,600 (down 3% in 24 hours and 31% over 30 days) while XRP hovered around $1.11 (down 5% on the day and nearly 24% in the past month). They also outlined key levels including ETH ranges near $1,550–$1,650, a downside line near $1,380, and potential upside toward $2,500–$2,600, while XRP bulls watched $1.66–$2.00 for a possible breakout.

Ethereum's social sentiment has dropped into "extreme fear" territory, a setup that has often appeared near local bottoms and short-term relief rallies. As of June 9, 2026, ETH is trading at $1,634.33, down 29.6% over the past 30 days after sliding from above $2,300 and breaking multiple support levels.
