Republicans push to make US CBDC ban permanent ahead of House vote on housing bill
Republican Reps. Mike Flood and Warren Davidson want language in the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act changed to permanently bar the Federal Reserve from issuing a US CBDC, as the amended bill is expected to face a House vote this week. The Senate Banking Committee's March version would block a CBDC only until Dec. 31, 2030, and the bill would still need approval from both chambers before reaching President Donald Trump for signature.
