Meta CTO Bosworth says employee morale is near a 20-year low after 10% layoffs and AI reassignments

Meta Chief Technology Officer Andrew “Boz” Bosworth told an internal meeting that employee morale is “maybe not the worst” in his 20 years at the company, but close to it. He linked the slump to Meta’s May layoffs of 10% of staff, the reassignment of roughly another 10% of workers to an AI task force, and an April plan to track mouse movements and keystrokes that drew employee backlash. Meta has since said it is loosening internal transfer rules and increasing budgets for travel, events, and snacks, according to Wired.
