Mindanao coffee farmers sweep top prizes at Philippines’ SEA Green Coffee Competition national round
Coffee farmers from three parts of Mindanao took multiple top awards in the SEA Green Coffee Competition’s Philippines National Round across Liberica, Robusta and Arabica categories. Prices paid for quality green beans have risen from ₱72.92 per kilogram to commonly above ₱300, with some specialty lots fetching more. The results point to a quality revival in Philippine coffee, though they have not yet translated into a systematic price driver for international futures markets or indexes. For now, the impact is concentrated in regional agricultural supply chains and specialty coffee trade flows.
