Germany weighs extending partial oil reserve release beyond Aug. 31

Germany is discussing whether to extend its policy allowing a partial release of national oil reserves, with the current arrangement set to expire on Aug. 31. The move is tied to the IEA’s March emergency release of 400 million barrels, to which Germany contributed 19.5 million barrels. The economy ministry said there is no physical energy shortage in Germany and no plan for further releases.
