Cotton futures slip in Thursday morning trade, July contract down 82 points to 76.08 cents/lb

Cotton futures were broadly lower in early Thursday trade, with the benchmark July contract down 82 points to 76.08 cents per pound and December down 4 points after jumping more than 200 points in the prior session. ICE-certified stocks held at 192,699 bales, while the Cotlook A Index rose 45 points last week to 85.50 cents and the Adjusted World Price fell 194 points to 61.26 cents per pound. The U.S. dollar index climbed to 100.26 and crude oil slipped 17 cents to $75.88 a barrel, with sentiment also pressured after the Federal Reserve held rates unchanged.
