CFTC opens review of fintech and DeFi-related rules under Executive Order 14405

WASHINGTON, June 16, 2026 — The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission began a review of its regulatory framework for fintech firms and is seeking public comment through a Request for Information. The agency is asking for input on regulations, guidance, orders, no-action letters and other items that may hinder partnerships between fintech firms and CFTC-regulated entities. It also wants feedback on updates that could streamline registration and authorization processes.
