Berkshire’s Alphabet stake rises to $36.6 billion, becoming its third-largest listed holding
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Berkshire's 13F shows a major ramp in Alphabet exposure to $36.6B, now its third-largest public holding, with Buffett confirming he initiated the position. The scale and direct purchase from Alphabet underscores conviction in Google's ad economics and can influence institutional positioning toward mega-cap tech. Concurrent trimming in financials (e.g., Bank of America) highlights a notable portfolio rotation within Berkshire's equity book.

Berkshire Hathaway significantly increased its Alphabet position in the second quarter, lifting the investment to $36.6 billion and making it the company’s third-largest publicly traded holding. The conglomerate bought nearly $19.8 billion in publicly traded stocks during the quarter, including $10 billion of Alphabet shares purchased at a discount directly from the company. It also added around 20 million more Alphabet Class A and Class C shares. GEICO, Berkshire’s insurance unit, pays Google about $10 or $11 per click for advertising.
