Mark Cuban flags Nvidia’s AI boom influence as IREN deal totals $3.4 billion and includes a $2.1 billion option
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
The story highlights Nvidia's role in financing AI infrastructure via a large GPU cloud contract and equity option with IREN, underscoring heavy capex and funding dependence in the AI datacenter buildout. While IREN is pivoting from BTC mining toward AI cloud revenue, its scale-up relies on sustained access to capital. For crypto, the linkage is indirect: IREN still mines Bitcoin but has paused mining expansion, limiting near-term mining-driven BTC supply impacts.

Mark Cuban has warned that Nvidia is effectively financing much of the AI boom, and IREN is cited as a clear example. Nvidia holds a five-year option to buy up to 30 million IREN shares, a potential $2.1 billion investment, and has also signed a separate five-year $3.4 billion cloud-services agreement under which IREN supplies GPU computing power. The contract sets a revenue floor of roughly $680 million a year for IREN, even as the company posted $144.8 million of revenue in its most recent quarter and spent $1.36 billion on capital expenditures. IREN reported its fiscal 2026 third-quarter results on May 7.
