Lockheed Martin and GM sign pact to ramp up munitions output, targeting PAC-3 MSE and THAAD scale-up
Lockheed Martin has signed a memorandum of understanding with General Motors to use GM’s scaled manufacturing capabilities to raise output of defense products such as missiles. The effort centers on speeding production of PAC-3 MSE and THAAD interceptors, aligning with a U.S. Defense Department request to triple and quadruple their production rates, respectively, over the next several years. The partnership focuses on strengthening supply chains and producing commonly used parts, without blending the companies’ products.
