Persian Gulf crude exports hit 18.3 million bpd in late September as tanker threats rise

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Persian Gulf crude exports briefly exceeded prewar levels, but renewed Iranian attacks around the Strait of Hormuz are slowing flows and raising shipping risk premia. While Yemeni government forces claiming control near Bab el'Mandeb could mitigate one chokepoint, ongoing conflict and daily incidents keep disruption risk elevated. The net effect is tighter perceived supply security and higher near-term volatility across global crude benchmarks and refined products.

Persian Gulf oil exports averaged 18.3 million barrels a day in late September, topping the 18 million barrels a day recorded a year before the U.S. and Israel launched a war against Iran. The pace began to ease after Iran renewed attacks on ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Yemen’s Saudi-backed government forces also said they took control of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait from the Iran-backed Houthis.
