A German court has ruled that Meta is liable for fraudulent ads posted on Facebook and Instagram, ordering the platform to pay damages and disclose revenue tied to the ads. The decision said Meta’s response to reported violations could take as long as 62 days, and that nearly 260 reports were filed in August 2024 alone, according to the court. The ruling is not yet final and could be appealed.
