Softer global prices and higher arrivals push India cotton to ₹64,500–65,500 per candy

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Softening global cotton benchmarks and rising new-crop arrivals are pulling Indian spot and auction prices lower amid muted mill demand and ample short-term inventories. Cottonseed declines add further pressure to raw cotton realizations, while upcoming October arrival acceleration reinforces near-term supply-driven weakness. Weather-related production risks from rainfall deficits may limit downside later, but near-term flow data and import policy remain key swing factors.

Global cotton prices have weakened, with New York ICE December cotton futures falling from a late-August peak of 93 cents per pound to about 80.13 cents per pound. India’s domestic cotton prices have eased to ₹64,500–65,500 per candy, while Cotton Corporation of India auction rates have been cut by about ₹1,200 over the past two days. Cottonseed prices have also declined by ₹300–400, as arrivals rise and demand remains subdued.
