Tokenized U.S. stocks lean on Alpaca as broker says it clears or custodies 94% and holds over $1.5 billion in backing shares
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
US tokenized equities are shown to be highly reliant on a single broker-dealer, Alpaca, while DTCC's SEC-authorized tokenization service is set to launch in October, offering official, rights-carrying stock and Treasury tokens. This regulatory and infrastructure shift raises scrutiny of third-party stock tokens' legal claims and intermediary risk, potentially reshaping liquidity venues, issuance models, and institutional participation across on-chain capital markets rather than underlying equity prices.

The U.S. market for tokenized stocks is heavily dependent on the California broker Alpaca, which says it clears or custodies roughly 94% of tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs and holds more than $1.5 billion of the underlying shares. DTCC is set to launch an official Tokenization Service in October, starting with the Russell 1000, major ETFs and U.S. Treasuries. The SEC has warned that third-party stock tokens can add ownership and intermediary risks. The shift is unlikely to move prices of the underlying stocks, but it could reshape the legal status, liquidity structure and intermediary stack for their tokenized versions.
