Ghana lifts 2026-27 cocoa farmgate price 2.4% to 42,400 cedis a ton
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Ghana raised its 2026/27 cocoa farmgate price to 42,400 cedis/ton, widening the gap versus Ivory Coast's unchanged pricing. The divergence increases incentives for cross-border smuggling and could distort bean flows into global supply chains, reinforcing tightness already driven by disease and adverse weather risks in West Africa. With futures rebounding to ~USD 5,600/ton, higher producer floors may help keep supply disruptions persistent.

Ghana, the world’s second-largest cocoa producer, raised its 2026-27 farmgate price by 2.4% to 42,400 cedis a ton to ensure farmers earn at least 70% of the free-on-board export value. Neighboring Ivory Coast kept its price unchanged earlier this month at $2,084 a ton. Cocoa futures are trading at around $5,600 per ton, nearly double the level when Ivory Coast set its price, underscoring continued supply tightness in West Africa.
