Bitcoin miners rally in 2026 as Riot, Hut 8 and peers pivot to AI data-center demand

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Bitcoin miners are being re-rated as AI power and data-center infrastructure plays rather than pure BTC hashrate proxies. Riot's $9.1B, 20-year Anthropic compute deal and IREN's $3.4B Nvidia cloud contract highlight monetization of power, grid access, and sites amid weak mining profitability and large BTC sales by public miners. Near term, this supports dispersion within miner equities and may modestly affect network hashrate dynamics.

Shares of several bitcoin mining companies have risen as they reposition existing power and site capacity to supply AI computing infrastructure. Riot Platforms surged 24% in after-hours trading after a 20-year, $9.1 billion agreement with Anthropic for 191 megawatts of computing capacity, Bloomberg reported. IREN climbed close to 10% this week after securing a $3.4 billion cloud contract with Nvidia. Other miners including Hut 8, Bitfarms and Core Scientific have also posted sizable gains this year as the AI shift becomes a key growth driver.
