BlackBerry posts $33.9 million fiscal Q2 profit, raises full-year EPS outlook to 19-22 cents
BlackBerry reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $33.9 million, or 5 cents per share, with adjusted earnings of 7 cents per share. Revenue for the quarter was $163.3 million. For the quarter ending in November, the company forecast earnings of 4 cents to 5 cents per share on revenue of $143 million to $154 million. BlackBerry lifted its full-year outlook to 19 cents to 22 cents per share, with revenue expected at $616 million to $636 million.

Starbucks plans to close about 250 North America stores later this week
Starbucks said it will close roughly 250 coffeehouses across North America later this week, about 1% of its more than 18,000 locations in the region. The company said most of its North America stores are profitable but a small portion has struggled to meet performance expectations. Sterling slips to near three-month low at $1.3222 as dollar reprices after Fed shift
Sterling fell to a near three-month low of $1.3222 on Thursday as the dollar was repriced after a hawkish shift by the Federal Reserve.
