Berkshire Hathaway said in its second-quarter report that its cash holdings fell to $365.5 billion from nearly $400 billion at the end of March. The filing showed the company added more than $24 billion in stock investments during the quarter, and media reports said the purchases included $10 billion of Alphabet shares. Berkshire also restarted buybacks, repurchasing $4.5 billion of its own stock in the quarter, up from about $234 million in the first quarter, after buying back $78 billion between 2018 and 2024.
