CBA shares slip to $172.72 after FY26 results as mortgage applications fall 15% since May

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Commonwealth Bank's FY26 results showed broad-based outperformance across major lending and deposit categories and a higher fully franked dividend, signalling resilient franchise strength and capital capacity. However, a 15% decline in home-loan applications since May alongside higher arrears and impairment expense highlights emerging housing and consumer credit sensitivity. The mix supports bank-sector sentiment but adds near-term caution around mortgage-driven earnings momentum.
