According to ChainThink, Cypherpunk said on X on Aug. 9 that Ironwood has surpassed Orchard to become the largest shielded pool on Zcash. The latest figures show Ironwood now holds 1,976,378 ZEC, worth more than $1 billion.
Zcash activated the Ironwood NU6.3 network upgrade last week at block height 3,428,143, introducing the new Ironwood shielded pool. Following the upgrade, the legacy Orchard pool has been restricted and can no longer accept new deposits. Funds already in Orchard must pass through the turnstile and exit before moving into Ironwood, a mechanism designed to ensure pool outflows do not exceed verifiable inflows.
