World Foundation Wraps Up $52.5M Strategic Sale of 52.5M WLD Tokens, Led by Pantera Capital

ChainThink reported on July 24 that the World Foundation—the nonprofit behind the World protocol—has completed a strategic sale of 52.5 million WLD tokens, with all tokens subject to a one-year lockup. The round was led by Pantera Capital, with participation from Bain Capital Crypto, Eightco Holdings, Selini Capital, Susquehanna Crypto, and other investors. According to the World Foundation, the WLD tokens sold in the offering are intended solely for use within the World Network ecosystem and do not represent any equity ownership in Tools for Humanity. Proceeds will be used to expand adoption of World ID among enterprises, individual users, and AI agents. World ID is designed to prove a user is a real human via one-time Orb biometric authentication without revealing their identity. The service is already integrated with platforms including Zoom, DocuSign, Okta, Vercel, and Tinder. World says it has more than 39 million registered users globally, with over 18 million having completed Orb verification. Following this financing, cumulative funding for the World project stands at approximately $492.5 million. WLD is trading around $0.37, giving the token a market capitalization of roughly $1.31 billion.
