Wanchain said its Cardano cross-chain bridge on Wanchain Bridge was compromised on July 20, 2026, leading to the theft of NIGHT tokens, according to a statement posted on the project's X account.
Wanchain has since issued an on-chain-style public notice to the attacker, demanding the return of 90% of the stolen NIGHT tokens by 12:00 UTC on Aug. 6. The attacker would be allowed to keep 10% as a bug bounty, and Wanchain said it would not pursue civil liability.
Community members report the attacker has already swapped the stolen NIGHT tokens on a DEX, pressuring the market. NIGHT is down more than 30% and last traded at $0.0188.
