UAE Sovereign Funds Hold $763.6M in BlackRock's Spot Bitcoin ETF

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
UAE sovereign wealth funds disclosed a combined $763.6M position in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT), underscoring sustained state-linked institutional exposure despite the recent crypto drawdown. Separately, August data indicate IBIT institutional ownership rebounded from July lows, suggesting stabilizing demand after earlier 2026 contraction. Together, the filings reinforce the institutional bid narrative and can improve near-term confidence around BTC ETF positioning and flow dynamics.

UAE sovereign wealth funds continue to build Bitcoin exposure through BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), according to the latest 13F filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Mubadala disclosed holdings of 14.7 million IBIT shares valued at about $490 million. Abu Dhabi Investment Council reported owning 8.2 million shares worth roughly $273.6 million. Combined, the two funds hold $763.6 million of IBIT. For Mubadala, the Bitcoin-linked position ranks as its second-largest holding by value in the filing. For Abu Dhabi Investment Council, it is listed as the largest holding. Both positions were unchanged from the Q1 report. At the end of Q4 2025, UAE wealth funds had accumulated more than $1 billion in Bitcoin exposure via IBIT, a move that followed Bitcoin's slide from above $126,000 to below $100,000. BlackRock's ETF is also seeing signs of renewed institutional interest. Fintel data based on the latest 13F filings shows institutional ownership rising to 374 million IBIT shares in August, reversing a downtrend that dominated 2026. Institutional holdings fell from a peak of 432 million shares in February to 361 million in July, a 16% decline, before ticking up in August. On the flow side, broader U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have moderated the heavy outflows seen in May. While the category has not yet turned decisively positive, the slowdown in Q2-style selling pressure could help stabilize Bitcoin's price. Summary: UAE sovereign funds reported $763.6 million in combined IBIT holdings; IBIT institutional ownership rose in August after a 16% decline earlier in 2026.
