TripleA Attacker Sends 4,970 ETH Worth $12.4M to Tornado Cash

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
On-chain monitors report the TripleA attacker moved 4,970 ETH (~$12.4M) into Tornado Cash in structured deposits, indicating active laundering after the July treasury theft. The flow consolidates prior cross-chain and intermediary steps, including links to earlier mixer withdrawals. While TripleA says customer funds were unaffected, the event highlights persistent exploit risk and can weigh on near-term ETH sentiment via security and compliance overhang.

PANews, Oct. 10 — Blockchain security firm Salus reported that the attacker behind the TripleA exploit has moved 4,970 ETH (about $12.4 million) into Tornado Cash. The hacker allegedly stole funds from TripleA's own treasury in July, with publicly estimated losses of roughly $11.8 million. Salus said the stolen assets were bridged to Ethereum and swapped. The attacker then split the funds between two intermediate addresses on Sept. 6. On Oct. 9, the funds were consolidated into a single wallet and deposited into Tornado Cash through 56 transactions: 49 transfers of 100 ETH and seven transfers of 10 ETH. One of the fund flows also included an earlier mixer withdrawal. TripleA has previously said the incident did not impact customer funds.
