Strategy Resumes Bitcoin Buying With 950 BTC Purchase; Spends $174M on STRC Buybacks

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
Strategy resumed Bitcoin accumulation after a two-week pause, buying 950 BTC for $75.7M and lifting holdings to 846,000 BTC, reinforcing ongoing corporate demand. Concurrent STRC preferred buybacks and declining cash buffers highlight tighter liquidity management, which traders may monitor for sustainability of future purchases. The update supports near-term sentiment via balance-sheet driven flows, while funding capacity becomes a key constraint.

Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, restarted its Bitcoin accumulation after a roughly two-week lull, purchasing 950 BTC for $75.7 million at an average price of $79,670 per coin. The company disclosed the transaction in a Form 8-K filed Monday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Following the latest buy, Strategy said its Bitcoin treasury stands at 846,000 BTC, acquired for about $63.8 billion at an average cost of $75,416 per Bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses. With Bitcoin referenced at around $84,925 at the time of publication, the filing implies an unrealized gain of roughly $8.05 billion, based on the company's figures and CoinGecko pricing. Alongside the Bitcoin purchases, Strategy continued shrinking its preferred equity exposure. The company repurchased about 1.77 million shares of its perpetual preferred stock, STRC, for approximately $174 million during the same week. In Monday premarket trading, STRC rose 0.35% to $98.85. Strategy reported $875.1 million remaining under its preferred-stock repurchase authorization and $1 billion available under its MSTR share repurchase program. The filing also noted no sales under the company's at-the-market offering programs between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20, indicating it did not raise additional capital through those facilities during that period. Liquidity moved lower as the company funded payouts and debt service. Strategy's "USD Cash" balance fell nearly 20% to $1.05 billion from $1.30 billion a week earlier. Its "USD Reserve" edged down to $5.04 billion from $5.10 billion after the company paid $57.4 million in preferred-stock dividends and interest on outstanding debt. Strategy distinguishes USD Cash as deployable for broader treasury needs, including Bitcoin purchases and capital management, while USD Reserve is intended primarily to support preferred dividends and debt interest. The activity comes as corporate Bitcoin buying remains active across the sector. Yahoo Finance data cited in the report showed Strategy shares up 7.4% to $165.2 in Monday premarket trading. Another corporate holder, Strive, also disclosed additional purchases, reporting it added 1,355 BTC last week to bring total holdings to 26,355 coins; Strive shares were said to be up 6.44% to $32.03. Investors are likely to track whether Strategy sustains its renewed purchase pace as cash balances adjust, particularly as STRC repurchases continue. With Bitcoin trading above the company's average cost, the unrealized gain narrative remains supportive, though liquidity levels may determine how long Strategy can simultaneously pursue Bitcoin accumulation and preferred-stock buybacks.
