Bitcoin, Ethereum Spot ETFs See $316M One-Day Outflow as Redemptions Persist

AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
US spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs saw a combined $316.6M in net outflows on Oct. 8, extending October's sustained withdrawals and signaling cautious institutional positioning. The pressure coincided with broad crypto risk-off moves and ~$1.19B in 24-hour liquidations, amplifying downside via leverage unwind. Persistent ETF redemptions challenge the typical "Uptober" seasonal narrative and can weaken near-term demand support.

Bitcoin ETFs posted $244.1 million in net outflows for the session, while Ethereum ETFs saw $72.5 million leave, bringing the combined total to $316.6 million. The continued redemptions point to a cautious stance among institutional investors and cast doubt on whether the historically bullish "Uptober" narrative will play out this year. Bitcoin ETFs Deepen October Losses Bitcoin ETFs have logged more than $820 billion in net outflows across the first six trading sessions of October, with the pace picking up in the second week. The largest single-day pullback came on Oct. 7, when $484.9 million was withdrawn, followed by another $244.1 million on Oct. 8. Bitwise's BITB and Ark Invest's ARKB recorded $17.7 million and $20.3 million of outflows, respectively. Franklin Templeton's EZBC was among the few gainers, attracting $4.7 million in inflows. Ethereum ETFs Under Heavier Pressure Ethereum ETFs also faced a difficult start to October, recording more than 5600 million in net withdrawals through Oct. 8. The biggest daily outflow was on Oct. 6 at $201.9 million, followed by $160.9 million on Oct. 7. On Oct. 8, BlackRock's ETHA saw $71.1 million in outflows, while Fidelity's FETH drew $5.5 million in inflows. Grayscale's ETHE posted $6.1 million in withdrawals. Crypto Prices Slip as Liquidations Surge The ETF outflows coincided with a broader selloff across digital assets. Bitcoin fell about 0.44% over the past 24 hours and traded at $82,660 as of Oct. 8. Ethereum hovered near $2,500 as investors cut exposure to riskier assets. The decline was amplified by roughly $1.19 billion in crypto liquidations over 24 hours, including $356 million in Ethereum positions and $298 million in Bitcoin positions.
