Solana Perps DEX FlashTrade to Close; Cofounder Cites Team Rift, Market Slump
AI مارکیٹ کا خلاصہ
FlashTrade’s shutdown highlights ongoing fragility in Solana perpetual DEX economics, citing team conflict, a shrinking market, and persistent unprofitability. Plans to sell the tech stack to compensate FAF holders point to impaired stakeholder outcomes and potential reputational spillover to the Solana DeFi ecosystem. Yakovenko’s response underscores that foundation support is mainly distributional, reinforcing that product-market fit remains the core risk for Solana DeFi builders.

ChainThink reported that on Aug. 9, FlashTrade founder Anas said on X that the Solana perpetuals protocol is shutting down. He added that the team is exploring a sale of the project's existing technology stack, with proceeds intended to compensate FAF holders.
Anas said the decision followed severe internal disagreements, a contracting market, and an extended period without profitability. He also argued that support from the Solana Foundation was insufficient, while stressing he was not blaming the foundation for FlashTrade's failure and that his comments were made in an emotional moment.
Solana cofounder Anatoly Yakovenko later responded that the foundation cannot decide whether a product succeeds. He said its main function is to help with go-to-market efforts and boost visibility at launch, while turning attention into users ultimately depends on the product.
